Let me propose an other message that to me is more truthful:
The information this documentary gives about the predecessors of Christianity is to my understanding mostly correct. The conclusion that Christianity as a religion has distorted the original "pagan" information to gain power and money, is correct. BUT: The conclusion that the original Egyptian/Sumerian base for the Christian mythology is false is very very incorrect. Let's make this clear: Tracing back the history of religions and myths about the Son-God, about the resurrection, about the shift of the ages etc. etc. brings us to the earliest known cultures: The Mesopotamian culture of Sumer and the culture of ancient Egypt. Looking at the different belief systems after these original ones, we can see the information getting more and more distorted over the centuries - yet carrying the basic contents similar enough to reveal the common source. What is the correct conclusion from this: A) There is an original
source for this information, which holds the information in
its purest form. Now that the original information through means of archeology and other sciences has been partially recovered, we can see the striking similarites of the Christian writings (mainly in the Bible and newly found books that were at some point excluded from the Bible) to the original Egyptian and Sumerian manuscripts. What does this mean? One possible conclusion is that considering the thousands of yeas that separate the origin of the Bible from the original information, this information has been stored surprisingly well! The fact that Christianity as an instutiton has done a very bad job of taking these truths into action, by distorting them for the benefit of power-greedy colonialists and financial opportunists and even mass murderers, is a whole different story. This is an act of "devil" if anything and by giving this "devil" the power to demonize the original extremely valuable information, we are becoming followers of this devil. Let's examine the word "pagan": To put it simply, this terms refers to all belief systems pre-dating Christianity. Does it mean these beliefs were primitive? Yes. But what does the term "primitive" mean? Apparently it comes from words "prime", "primal" and "primary". So primitive information is the prime information, the primary information. It is the original that has been copied, messed with and fortunately in some occasions also enhanced. Unfortunately the enhancements have been kept secret by various brotherhoods and secret sects. Until now, that is... Many people still believe in the idea of constant evolution: Because it has been pointed out that man as a pysical being has evolved from less sophisticated beings, it means man in his current shape is the peak of evolution - and thus the idea of constant evolution is right. Not so.
By the time of Sumerian and Egyptian cultures, the physical human being, the homo sapiens was fully developed: The current homo sapiens is no more evolved than the homo sapiens at that time. It is important to realize that human being is primarily a conscious, thinking being who only expresses himself through physical actions. For this purpose he needs a body that is able to reflect his conscious choices and decisions. The conscious/spiritual origin of human being goes far beyond the existence of the physical human body. It was only when the human body was sophisticated enough to act as the physical vehicle for the soul (or what ever you decide to call the nonmaterial aspect of humans), that any succesful physical cultures could emerge. When the spiritual human being entered the physical vehicle, it started getting deeper and deeper into matter, learning more and more of the physical world but at the same time losing more and more of its metaphysical wisdom. The advanced esoterical information that was in the possession of the Sumerian and Egyptian cultures (before their decline) was carried from the Atlantean times when the fall into matter hadn't quite yet occurred. In Atlantis people were still connected into the spiritual realms and only partially expressing themselves on the dense physical level. The falling of Atlantis was also the final falling into matter. The sudden emergence of several advanced cultures all over the planet some time after the ice age (which is related to the cataclysm that destroyed Atlantis) can be understood when we accept that survivors of Atlantis spread out in various directions and eventually initiated these cultures. The understanding of how astronomical and planetary alignments are reflected into human experience on the surface of Earth was essential to these cultures. To characterize the celestial objects and taking them to the level of Earthly beings and phenomena, was effective because it was a means of seeing the connection between things on different levels. But it was also an effective way to ensure the continuation of this information through generations as stories around familiar characters were easier to remember than astronomical details. The cycles and relationships of the unirverse and those of the solar system and the planets have their counterparts in the cycles and relationships of nature, the cycles of nations and the cycles in an individual person's life. The death and resurrection of the sun could be observed daily (rising and setting of the sun) and annually (the solstices), but also in larger periods of time. The largest conceivable cycle would include the idea of all humanity falling into darkness following the process of thousands of years and facing a "great winter solstice" at the end of this large cycle. Any "great sun" or indeed "son" that would be the light bearer to bring the resurrection of light for humanity would be considered a "Messiah" or a Saviour God - as the Sun is the Saviour each day. To expect such a "Sun" to appear in the form of an indiviual human being might seem a strange idea at first. Yet the idea of Jesus Christ being such an individual manifestation of the universal forces has been embraced by many (certainly not most by those who were forced by violence to accept this belief). However, whether Jesus actually existed as a physical being is not so relevant as you might assume. What is relevant, is to realize that these cycles do occur on several levels of time, space and consciousness and that eventually we are due for a great shift when all humanity will rise out of the darkness with the help of a "new sun" of some sort - whether it comes in the form of a great supernova, a transformation of our sun - or simply an emergence of a new form of consciousness. In the time of Jesus, something certainly was happening. The "Christian values" of love, tolerance, forgiving and the like were introduced to the Jewish society by... someone. Apparently the teachings recorded in the New Testament (which are very similar to the core teachings of other major religions) surfaced out of somewhere, so that there was a need to record them. Was there a person who was appearing as a "sun of God" and bringing the loving and warming rays to give new hope for the people who were in despair? Was there several people who were identified as one? Was it an imaginary character? What ever is the correct answer, these ideas were being re-introduced in that society, with such a strength that even the military powers of the great Roman empire couldn't silence them, but eventually these ideas were incorporated in the Roman religion. And this was the birth of the Roman Catholic church - indeed a mixture of many ancient "pagan" belief systems. My personal belief is that a mega shift is occuring right now (on both sides of the year 2012). The deepest hour of the current "great year", a "great winter solstice", was the time of the second world war. Part of this darkness is the fact that the Christian church was corrupted to a level where it was allowing the murder of millions of people and even justifying these actions as the will of God. This "great solstice", in accordance to the universal patterns, must be followed by the resurrection of "a Sun". What is the sun that has died when people are murdering each other and seeing this as the will of God? It is the the lost contact to the universal source of love, to put simply. This loss of love is backed up by many social, political, economical and religious institutions that function on some other values than love. The resurrection of the sun, then, would be the recovery of love between people and the fall of such institutions that support the absence of love. This resurrection is not achieved by spreading fear. So I would advice people not to follow information that is backing up the fear but information that is backing up love. The twelve archetypical energies of astrology are a reflection of universal laws that affect every level of physical and non-physical reality. The twelve signs of the zodiac around our sun; this is the astronomical level. The twelve types of people born "under" these signs; this is the human level. The twelve disciples of Jesus or for example the twelve knights of King Arthur; this is the symbological level. It doensn't mean Jesus as a man (or a woman, with another name) didn't exist and he didn't have any number of disciples. But it means that anytyhing or anyone who has the ability to balance all these archetypical energies and be in the center, can be called a "sun". And since these are universal laws that expand all the way to the deepest and highest levels of reality, they are "sacred", "eternal", "divine". What encompasses "all that is", can be called "God". What is a physical manifestation of these divine laws, can be called a child, a son, or a "sun" of God. Now which of the following statements to you find more believable:
I would like the audiences of the Zeitgeist movie to accept and value the historical and astrological interpretations of the religious dogmas - but be very cautious about accepting the conclusion that this information is worthless simply because one religion has misused it. Veli
