LIVING IN A VIRTUAL WORLD

HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE EXISTENCE OF OTHER REALITIES

One problem associated to the accepting of other levels of existence, other "dimensions" or "densities" is the difficulty to understand them. Especially when we talk about a reality, where such unquestioned paradigms as linear time and three-dimensional space don't apply, we just can't imagine it. On the other hand we can think that this kind of parallel realities have no meaning to us if they can't be observed or measured by us.

How could it be possible to clarify the narrowness of our physical reality and the significance of "higher" realities? For as long as our minds are tied up to this single level of existence, we can't concretely figure out the nature of a different reality. So it can only be done metaphorically.

This metaphorical mean of explaining was offered to me by a dream I saw 15th February 1998. Its message and purpose was quite clear. It was not the first time that my dreams have symbolically given me explanations to things that my less imaginative waking mind hasn't been able to discover.

Dreams themselves are an alternative level of consciousness and existence, so they can to some extent help us grasp the hierarchy of realities: In a normal dream we are not aware of our waking reality, thus not able to understand it. In the dream world different set of rules apply, the environment is perceived in a different way and the thought processes are clearly different than when we are awake.

This dream of mine pointed to another alternative reality, however. This was the cyberworld of the modern computer society - virtual reality.

VIRTUAL REALITY AS AN ALTERNATIVE

Virtual reality in the current meaning of the word refers to a computer generated artificial world, where you can enter using a virtual helmet, virtual gloves and even a whole virtual suit transferring the movements of a person into the virtual environment. These equipment are an interface between the user and the computer; they enable the explorer to observe the virtual world, to affect it and receive sights, sounds and even sensations. Most likely, as the technology moves on (like it does very rapidly) it will be possible to hook the user to the computerworld directly through the brains. Then the virtual traveller will control and observe the artificial world with the corresponding parts of the brains directly.

As for today, virtual reality even at its best is a very simplified version of the physical reality. However, by using computers you can create completely surrealistic worlds, not even restricted by the limits set by the laws of physics. There seems to be no limits in sight to the growth of computing power and memory capacity, as smaller and more effective components are developed all the time. Correspondingly the virtual worlds will become ever more detailed, wider and more realistic.

VIRTUAL GENESIS

Let us imagine a future, where a group of some ten thousand people decides to leave the boring everyday reality behind for good, moving into an ideal world they have developed. With wires they hook their brains directly into a framework of several supercomputers. Their new home world is in many ways like reality, but you don't need to eat, you have no diseases, no germs, no dirt. Also it's possible to be transported instantly from one spot to another, using gates built for that purpose. Each occupant takes a form he/she desires being able to change it at will. Among the people there are some programmers able to develop the world and change valid rules without having to weak up to the higher reality.

The maintenance of the physical bodies is handled by a machinery that takes care of their functions and needs. The sensations of the physical body are "switched" of from the brains, as if each person really was only a brain. Inside the virtual world, there would this way exist no connection to the actual body. Returning to an awake state is allowed only by applying a permit from a board of directives.

Time goes by and the virtual lives proceed as planned. People get adapted into their new home and start to forget their original lives. Eventually there is no returning back, as the physical bodies get deteriorated as well as the parts of the brains controlling them.

THE FORGETTING

As decades pass, many start getting bored in their lives and existence, not wanting to live forever anymore. Despite the creation of new worlds and entertainments, more and more people gets frustrated and depressed. A meeting has to be organized to seek for a solution. A decision is made to restrict the lives of people after all. Since there is no way to replace a deceased citizen, instead of letting the physical body die, the person's memory is erased and he/she will be reborn again into a new form and circumstances. In other words, reincarnation is created!

The newborn individuals thus remember nothing of their original physical existence; virtual reality is their one and only reality. The laws and features of it are natural to them from "birth".

Centuries pass, generations change and finally even the last original inhabitants decide to reincarnate. As more time passes, an ever diminishing group of people is aware of the "Genesis". Eventually even this group ceases to believe the story of creation and begins to consider it as a myth. The programmers are gone, so the reality is stabilized to the way it is.

THE ASCENSION

Things proceed with their pace until suddenly "supernatural" things start occuring. People start to observe phenomena that don't fit their reality, fight against their knowledge. They are not aware that this is a result of interference from the "higher reality". The real people (the ones the virtual citizens also originally belonged to) have decided to "wake up" the occupants of the artificial world, to make them aware of their origin and the limits of their reality. They start making subtle alterations to the programming and send observers and "missionaries" into the virtual kingdom. They are not tied by the artificial "laws of nature", so they can appear and move around in ways not understandable to the virtual people.

A massive debate bursts out. A part of people thinks these strange visitors and phenomena are illusions. Some start restudying the old myths looking for explanations. By concentration, "meditation", a few even manage to restore a part of their real memory. They can remember their past lives and even some vague sensations from their original existence. They start to spread their message, but people stuck to their familiar and safe reality can't understand. It's beyond their acceptance that their bodies are not actually real. They can't accept that outside their world, in a completely different level, other beings live in a world with different rules and properties. Most difficult it is to understand that they are really occupants of this higher reality themselves.

Meanwhile people willing to learn and evolve, establish a contact with the visitors. They are shown sights from a different world. They experience rich sensations that are impossible in their lower reality. They see a vast detailed world, inhabited by million times more people than their own. They learn to do "impossible" things, like tell others about their past incarnations. Gradually some of the "contactees" are returned to their physical bodies, recovered by the people outside. Some of these "ascended" people join the missionaries visiting the virtual reality, taking the message of another world to people willing to receive it.

THE CHANGE GOING ON IN OUR WORLD

A similar change is now happening in our reality. The above story was a clear example of moving from a higher reality into a lower or vice versa. Virtual reality can be an example of an existence, where you can't understand your own origin or a world on a different level, once you have lost your memory of it. Yet this higher reality has a meaning to the virtual citizen, since that is where he comes from and that is where he subconsciously wishes to return to. The return is only possible by opening your mind and accepting to see beyond the limits of your familiar reality.

We have no absolute reason to assume that the world observed through our physical senses and studied by our physical equipment, is the only one. Now that increasingly more entities from other realities are visiting among us, more people have to reconsider the "truths" and ways of thinking fed to them since their childhood. UFOs, spirits, Crop Circles and other "paranormal" phenomena are awakening us from our limited and self-centered sense of reality.

The story I've told is by no means a direct transcript of my dream. Yet the dream included the same symbolism, which was very clear to me.

I hope this story helps you one step further on the journey of opening your mind to a new way of thinking, a way that is so important just now!
