THE PYRAMIDS IN CLOSER EXAMINATION
3. The other formations

Apart from 'C' not much can be said from these. From the MGS photo we could see that the "small bump" left of it is the most apparent pyramid ever seen on Mars and the first one even close to the Egyptian scale in size. From this fact you get a picture of the huge magnitude of these formations (they are all in correct comparative scale)!
- B: Possibly a three-sided pyramid. Notice the smooth right wall.
- E: Looks like a symmetrical four-sides formation but it's too blurred to be sure.
- F: Strongly suggests a regular four-sided pyramid, though the edges are softened.
- G: Possibly another three-sided pyramid.
- H: An elongated triangular shape. Note the peak on the left and compare it to the one beside C!
THE "COMPLEX"
So let's see the only one of these structures that was shot by the Global Surveyor in April, 1998.

The pyramid "complex" and a close-up of the "well-preserved" square-based pyramid.
Though the definately intelligentlly structured pyramid (forget the natural explanations!) takes all the attention, the overall structure of the whole complex is interesting. There seems to be another rectangular base on the side of a possible much larger four-sided pyramid (and it was the peak of this I used for reference on the previous pages).
Something like this "small" pyramid could be possibly built by people on Earth. You might think this large mountain could not be artificial because of its size. But we can't exclude this possibility because the D&M pyramid is even many times bigger! In this image the newly found pyramid is placed next to its five-sided big brother...
I enlarged and rotated the corresponding region in the Viking photo. Now that you know it you can clearly spot the small pyramid also in the older picture (there are lots of these smaller details in the Viking photo - how many pyramids might there really be?!).
The letters mark places where some changes would seem to have appeared. Up and right from 'A' in the Viking photo there is a lighter rectangular spot that is missing from the new picture. The diamond shaped mound next to 'B' seems to have vanished as well. The mountain side right from C seems clearly different. D looks like the shadowed wall of a three-sided pyramid in the Viking picture, but like a large crater in the MGS picture. But the sharp arc above D could also be the edge of this pyramid.
