ANY NEW SUGGESTIONS?As I have said in connection to my earlier studies, I think the structure is nevertheless artificial, or at least a part of it (please see the index page with links to former articles). This new 3D reconstruction, while perhaps takes me again further from believing the formation is a face, does not change my beliefs in this respect. The most apparently articial looking part is the "framework" with it's rounded rectangle or oval shape. As shown in the illustration below, this could be seen as a "ramp", rising from ground level and going round the mount until it reaches the top:
The middle or top part seems somewhat irregular at a quick glipse, but at the same time one can not miss the parallel shapes, in 90 degree angle towards the longer edges. From these observations a possible explanation for the "Mars Face" comes into my mind - though I must stress it's just speculation without any further evidence: The "face" was originally a natural geological formation, possibly an island (see "pyramids by the sea"), somehow in a crucial location. The people (or aliens) living close to it decided to use it as a base for a fort or perhaps a temple. A "wall" was built around the island and a road or path on it, to help the people get on the top of the hill. What was the purpose of the wall? It might have been a defence against enemies or against the rising sea. On top of the hill there were buildings, perhaps a temple, a castle, an observatory, you're guess is as good as mine...
