Yes, the field is in a valley and it is very visible from various places around it. When it appeared, it had been a hot, sunny weather for several days. Every day there were people visiting the gigantic snowflake formation on Eastfield, Alton Barnes as well as the "Mitsubishi car" that was constructed on the same field. Every day there were also people climbing up to Picket Hill to see the scenery.

I entered the new formation on Monday, 10th Aug, around 11 a.m. together with ilyes (an American researcher) and two American women. The German researchers (Dirk, Frank, Andreas) were already there with their measuring tapes and camera poles. As I entered the huge ring of flattened crop it seemed obvious that this was practically untouched. The Germans verified the formation had certainly formed overnight; they were constantly on the watch for new formations. Besides, I knew they were very skeptical, always looking for evidence of hoaxing.

The "floor" was very soft and airy; the stalks were not tightly pressed against the ground. Yet it was not necessary to stomp them very much to leave a clear trace. The flow of the crop was not perfect in terms of alignment, not compared to some other formations we'd seen. But it was definately neat and precise.

Most of the stems had snapped below the lowest node. However, there were places were you could find "magically bent" stems, curved without snapping. This is not possible to establish with physical force unless perhaps if the stems are very wet. Yet during this heat wave there was moisture only during a couple of hours in the early morning.
