Kokemäki, Finland:

WHAT ON EARTH LANDED ON THIS FIELD????

page2
The field was so large it took a long time just to walk around it. There were dozens of triangles, rectangles and paths all over. The entire area of laid-down crop was at least a couple of hectares. I had noticed the crop was flattened in all possible directions over the main area, but now I begun to take a closer look. There was always a bunch of stalks bent in the same direction, but yet in an area covering one square meter, there could be bunches bent in all four directions. And then I found what must be the most amazing detail in all this.

There was a large bunch of stalks, which were flowing into one direction, all of them. But not the entire stalks! They were SYSTEMATICALLY bent at the HIGHEST NODE and in an angle that seemed to vary very little. This produced something that looked like a feather. The stems formed a linear flow of "sticks" while the upper parts with most of the leaves and the seed-heads were organised into a soft layer next to the stems. And there was not just one of these feathers. In one of them the main flow was curving which made it look even more beautiful. I ripped of a bunch to take with me. Later I examined them, and confirmed each one of them was really bent at the highest node - and with surprisingly small variation in a 40 degree angle!
