The diagram below shows the circles and lines that form the base of this pattern. It also shows the single circle that passes the centers of the three outer rings. This is in no way visible in the finished Crop Circle. The thickness of the "barriers" is somewhat the same everywhere (about 20 cm in reality?). Assuming this is the thickness of the (sound) barrier, then it's worth noting that mostly inside the barrier the crop is also laid down. Yet for example the segments of the outer rings that lie outside the perimeter of the formation are not affected. This suggests that it can be controlled where the barrier affects the crop and where it doesn't.

This pictre shows how well the diagram fits on top of the photo. Of course you must remember that this is not the original photo in which the formation is viewed from a different angle. Since there are bound to be some irregularities on the field surface, a perspective correction doesn't give a 100% exact match to a photo that would have actually been shot straight above the formation.
